Leeds Golf Design were appointed to assist with the golf course masterplan and rerouting proposals for Richings Park Golf Club as part of the wider landscape restoration and redevelopment strategy associated with the North Heathrow and Langley Quarry expansion proposals led by CEMEX UK.
The project focused on the long-term reconfiguration and future-proofing of the golf course through a sensitive redesign approach aimed at maintaining playability, safety and golfing character whilst integrating the wider environmental and land restoration objectives of the site.
The proposals explored the rerouting and redesign of several golf holes together with the creation of new landscape corridors, habitat areas and sustainable drainage features designed to enhance biodiversity, improve visual integration and support the long-term sustainability of the golf facility within the evolving landscape framework.
The wider project forms part of a significant phased restoration and open space strategy connected to the North Heathrow and Langley Quarry planning proposals submitted to the local authorities by CEMEX.
