Leeds Golf Design carried out the independent GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf verification process for Albarella Golf Links as part of the club’s successful GEO Certified® sustainability verification.
Located within the environmentally sensitive landscape of Albarella Island on the Adriatic coast, the course is recognised for its strong commitment to nature conservation, habitat enhancement and sustainable golf course management. The verification process reviewed the club’s ongoing work in biodiversity protection, water management, ecological stewardship and environmentally responsible maintenance practices across the links-style property.
Particular attention was dedicated to the preservation of the unique coastal ecosystem and to the integration of golf operations within the wider protected natural environment of the island, which hosts a rich variety of native wildlife and vegetation.
Leeds Golf Design worked closely with the club and GEO Foundation throughout the certification process to assess sustainability performance and support the continued development of environmentally responsible golf management practices.
